If you would like to join the dedicated fire fighters of the Bedford Hills Fire Department, call 666-4112. They meet each Monday evening at the Bedford Hills Firehouse at 7 PM. To be a member you must be at least 18 years of age and participate in 8 hours of safety training. You will also be required to attend at least 4 meetings a year and 10% of the fires. The Fire Department was founded in 1903, and the present Firehouse was erected in 1959. Members are beginning preparation for their 100th anniversary in 2003. They are also restoring a 1929 antique fire truck. Funds are raised through a yearly fund drive during Fire Prevention Week, and a "Ham Night" for those over 18 years of age is held on the second Wednesday before Easter
