On the third Thursday of each month from September through May, the Croton Watershed Chapter of Trout Unlimited ("CWCTU") meets at 7:30 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 197 Manville Road in Pleasantville, NY. There is no requirement for membership except payment of annual dues to Trout Unlimited. Interested visitors are always welcome at meetings and, like the coffee and donuts, attendance is free. The Chapter comprises over 500 members from across many of the metro area's counties. One of the most active TU chapters in the New York metro area, CWCTU strives to protect the natural resources, waterways, fisheries and enjoyment of sport fishing throughout the Croton Watershed. Activities such as stream testing for pollutants, observation of aquatic macro invertebrate ("bug")Ê populations, assisting with stream stocking and other practices intimately connect CWCTU to the watershed. That connection serves as a strong basis for our relationships with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the governmental agencies most directly involved with the protection and enhancement of the watershed. For more information about the Croton Watershed Chapter of Trout Unlimited, please visit our website at www.crotonwatershedtu.org. If you prefer to learn about CWCTU firsthand, please attend one of our monthly meetings, visit our good friends (and members) at The Bedford Sportsman, 25 Adams Street in Bedford Hills, NY - (914) 666-8091 or contact a Chapter Officer or Board Member.
