Katonah, NY 10536 232-8387 In the early 1990's The Friends group began to aid the library in aspects of fund raising, mailings to the community and help with meetings and refreshments for large group functions. It soon evolved into a devoted core of volunteers who completely maintain the shelf order of all books both in the adult section and children's area of the library .These dedicated volunteers are asked to tend their area of shelves once per month, which takes about one hour, check for books needing repair, and even lightly dust the books and area they maintain. There are approximately 40 helpers upstairs and 25 who work in the children's room. If you could offer the time to Adopt-a-Shelf or give help in any other aspect of the Friends program, please call the person listed above or mention it to a librarian on your next library visit.
