Katonah Museum of ArtClaire Copen Anyone who is a member of the Katonah Museum of Art may be a part of the Volunteer Council. There are different levels for membership with graduated fees. Many volunteer opportunities are available such as fund raising, research, writing, the children's learning center, docent, gift shop, and reception desk. The museum began in 1953 and was then named the Katonah Gallery. It was originally housed in the Katonah Village Library .The Museum is now located in its own building on Jay St., which was completed in 1990. There is no permanent collection, but 6 to 8 different exhibits are offered each year. Their shows included such renown artists as AI Hirschfeld, Alexander Liberman, and Roy Lichtenstein to name but a few. Hours are Tuesday to Friday 1-5 PM, Saturday 10 AM - 5 PM, and Sunday 1 - 5 PM |
