Their meetings are held the first Monday of each month at the firehouse on the Village Green. To join you must be at least 18 years old, have a recent physical examination and complete a training course. The group was founded in 1923 to protect the village, which is comprised of many historical buildings and homes. They are always in hope of increasing their membership and have as their ongoing goals, fire protection, fire prevention, and EMS (Emergency Medical Services). Fundraisers include an annual fund drive and "Turkey Day" which features a turkey raffled, games of chance and refreshments are served. The Group sponsors a parade both on Memorial Day and on the last Friday in July. Firemen bring the message of fire prevention to the local schools during each school year.
